Post 2011 Topps Finest Baseball Box Break Recap and Review

Refractors, xfractors, colored refractors, mosaic refractors, atomic refractors and, of course, the superfractor are what collectors have to chase in 2011 Topps Finest Baseball. Short checklists, minimum inserts and mostly rookie hits are the keys to the success of Finest.

Topps Finest Baseball falls under our premium cards category. Each box contains two mini boxes with 6 packs per mini and 5 cards per pack. Each mini contains an on-card rookie autograph or a dual relic autographed Rookie card.

Here are some of the cards we pulled from our two mini boxes.

Albert Pujols base, front and back

Craig Kimbrel Green #/199 B.J. Upton Red #/25

Adrian Gonzalez and Jose Bautista refractors #/549

Daniel Descalso and Michael Pineda xfractors #/299

Alexi Ogando Finest Freshmen and Buster Posey Finest Foundation Inserts

Jordan Walden Rookie On-Card Auto Refractor #/499

Alexi Ogando Purple Dual Relic Autographed Rookie Card #/5

Overall Look
The refractors here look great, in particular, the any of the colored refractors whether it be red orange green or purple. The boldness of the colors is enhanced by the refractor technology. The limited inserts work well and the on-card rookie autos are fantastic.

Quality and Variety of Players
At 100 base cards, this checklist is really tight, but makes sense for this product. Teams are represented by their best veteran players and the list of rookies is held to 40, with half of those accounting for the hits.

Do the Hits satisfy?
Know your product. This is a really tight total checklist for the hits which is why it is common to see them repeat over several boxes, but in different parallel colors and numbering. Case hits include some of the top veteran names of the game, but are tough pulls.

Will you keep coming back for more?
Rookie prospectors will eat these up by the case. For all others, don’t be surprised if you find yourself indulging in a few boxes.

Rating

4 1/2 out of 5

2011 Topps Finest Baseball provides a high end treatment for today’s top rookies.
