According to eBay listings & other searches on the net... it looks like this set was sold exclusively through Avon in 1997 (although the metal cards say 1996). Completed listing have sold in the $8 to $13 range (shipping included).
They're definitely a cool set... I remember these metal cards were popular in the 90's.
