Panini is making a big splash in 2012 with their first basketball product, 2011-12 Preferred Basketball.


All of the cards will be on-card autographs, which make the cards look even better. The patches on the Crown Royale Silhouettes look sick. To see more silhouettes: Click Here

Earlier in the week, Panini released images of Preferred’s Crown Royale and Panini’s Choice subsets. Looks like there will be six different autographs to collect. To see more images: Click Here

We can't forget the booklets that were previewed back in December. There will be one six or eight piece memorabilia booklet card in each box.

The cost for 2011-12 Preferred Basketball will be $200 for three autograph cards and one six- or eight-piece memorabilia booklet card.

Cant wait to see some new Panini Basketball cards in person for this season. Since there wont be any Prestige, Threads, or Donruss unfortunately, I guess I am stuck buying the low end Hoops return product. LOL!

I don't think all the autos will be "on-card". Some of the blog posts from Panini (tracy hackler) show Preferred cards with sticker autos. Panini promoted Elite Black as being loaded with on-card autos and that wasn't the case. I busted 2 sealed cases and pulled only one actual "on-card" auto from each case. Their track record isn't very good with regard to on-card sigs.

I think Panini said they won't be making any RC's at all this year. I'm not sure why they're not doing it. Seems like a bad business move to me.

That would be horrible if that is the case. I want at least a few Kyrie Irving and Derrick Williams RCs. I think the only one out right now is the Panini Nationals Promo Cards from last year.
