Default Earthquake in Chile and Tsunami warning in Hawaii

Please pray for these people that are in these tough situations.

Aparently it was not as bad as the earthquake in Haiti, but still.

Also, not sure what part of Hawaii the tsunami warning is for, but I know we have atleast 1 member currently there.

Thanks-
SC

I heard the earthquake had a magnitude of 8.8 and unleashed 500x more energy than the Haiti earthquake. There's currently a tsumani advisory for the west coast of the US and Alaska as well. The tsunami watch is for all of Hawaii, I read there were sirens going on all over the place, and that the first waves were expected to hit in a couple hours.

Hope everybody comes out of this unscathed.

I hope that everyone will be okay. It is real scary. I have a friend that I trade with some that lives in Hawaii.

Looks like the Tsunami is going to hit us (the Big Island of Hawaii) first. So far expecting 15-20' waves and definite destruction and flooding to occur, per the radio. The tsunami warnings have been goin on and off. They are due to arrive in 3 hours......

I'll keep everybody posted as I can.

Kenneth and Brad, stay safe, and try to keep us posted

Also, yes this quake had more energy but Chile is much better suited to withstand this.

First wave not so bad it seems. I'll continue to keep Hawaii in my thoughts.

And more info on mainland US:

It's only advisory level so I think there's nothing to really worry about.

well I just got back and CNN is saying nothing significant so far but still not all clear

I might be foolish for saying this but I think the worst of this is behind us (knock on wood)

Our seas pulled back but didn't rise all that much. First wave was really the only 'excitement' here.
