Anyone interested in "OLD" and I mean "old" books
I just went through a lot of stuff in the garage, and found several "OLD" books. I have 14 "old" books, published between 1858 and 1941 available for trade or sale. I have no idea of their values. They deal with history, fiction, math, reference, etc Here is a general list ------
The Ancient Lowly Vol I & II Vol. I (1888) Vol II (1900)
Ben Hur (1880)
Elements of Business Arithmetic (1911)
Ancient Society or...... (1877)
I. C. S. Reference Library (1905)
Prince William the story of its people..... (1941)
Ray's new higher Arithmetic (1880)
Cardigan (1901)
The Virginians a tale of the last century (1859)
Washington and His Generals (no date of publication - starts with Major General Greene and ends with Brigadier General Morgan)
History of North Carolina:..... Vol. II (1858) - GONE
Virginia (1916)
Our Presidents brief biographies of our chief magistrates (1924)

Tom & AC - here are my brief descriptions of their conditions ---
NOTE : pages aged means natural aging
BEN HUR - brown cover, title/author/publisher in gold print on spine - slight wear at the top & bottom of spine. Inside cover some separation. Cover pages have some writing - a $ amount, two signatures, & "Father, Christmas,1886. Pages are aged but no rips/tears - easy to read. No writing on back cover pages. In really great shape for its age.
Prince William - blue cover, title/publisher in gold on spine. My great uncles sig. & 1947 written on cover page. Pages aged but no rips/tears. Afew, not many, pages have a dark stain (still readable) - looks like something was kept between thos pages for a long time. No other problems.
I.C.S. REF. LIB. - spine is bare, but front& back covers are still attached. No writing on book. Pages aged but no rips/tears.
The Ancient Lowly vol. I - brownish cover, title/author/vol. I/publisher in gold on spine. No rips/tears, pages aged.
Washington.... - brown cover, title/author in gold on spine, some symbol (part of the book cover, not a damage) impressed into the front cover. No torn/ripped pages, pages aged.
Virginia - brown cover,title on front cover, very thin book. Inside cover someone printed Marshall twice, and on the cover page wrote 119 twice and circled them. No rips/tears.
Our Presidents - tan cover, title/author on front cover & spine (pub. also on spine). No writing, rips/tears, pages aged.
The Ancient Lowly vol. II - same description as vol. I above except it has a small damage to the front cover 9nothing major).
Ancient Society - blue cover, title/author/pub. on spine in gold. No writing or rips/tears, pages aged.
Elements of .... - green cover, title/author/series printed on cover & title/author/pub. printed on spine. One minor cover damage near the bottom. No writing or rips/tears. It even has a paperback of "Answers to Problems" in the back.
Ray's... - spine cover is gone, but front/back covers still well attached. Decoratios/title on cover page, brownish cover. A very fancy written message on the cover page. On the next page prior to title page there is writing of it beig "Private Property of John E Everett this book was bought at Shernodsville Nov 4th 1897 Price 72 ct". No rips/tears, pages aged.
Cardigan --- maroon cover with indentation of title on cover, info. on spine but very hard to read. No rips/tears, pages aged.
The Virginians --- multi colored cover - marble like with colors of brown,beige,dark blue/black, and reddish/maroon - on the left side fron cover about a 3/4 inch maroon top to bottom, right corners t & b are brown and the "color" is at 45 degree angles. The spine looks like it has been taped with light brown tape. No tears/rips, pages aged.
That's about it for my descriptions of these "old" books - bring on those offers.

Randy, I'm not sure what "printing", it's not in the book. I assume it's very early. On the back of the title page it says "Entered according to Act of Congress,in the year 1880, by Harper & Brothers. In the Office of Congress, at Washington. All rights reserved." That's about the best I could find, nothing about what edition, copyright, etc.
