Post Matt Flynn: Greatest Packers QB Ever?

Okay... I apologize for the exaggeration, but I wanted to get your attention.

Up until yesterday morning, I didn't know if Aaron Rodgers or Matt Flynn was going to start. Either way, I figured Flynn would receive most of the snaps... but I had no idea he'd be breaking records. In just his second career start, he accumulated the following stats:

31 Passing Completions (out of 44 attempts)
480 Passing Yards (Packers Franchise Record)
6 Passing Touchdowns (Packers Franchise Record)

In addition to those two records, he combined with Matthew Stafford to set a pair of NFL records. It was the first time in NFL history that two QB's each threw 400+ yards & 5+ touchdowns passes. Plus their 971 total combined passing yards broke Tom Brady and Chad Henne's previous NFL record of 906 passing yards, which was set in week 1 of this season.

If you're a Packers fan, then you remember last season's game against the New England Patriots. That's where Flynn marched into Foxborough and almost pulled off a huge upset in his first professional start.

A year later, he outdid himself and showed people that he's more than just a capable backup. He may not be the greatest quarterback in Green Bay Packers franchise history, but it's safe to say, he won't be wearing a Packers uniform next season.

Congratulations to Mr. Flynn and the rest of the Green Bay Packers for their huge week 17 win against the Detroit Lions. Now it's time to get ready for the post season, where hopefully Aaron Rodgers will lead this highly talented offense to another Super Bowl victory.

It's your turn.

Who are your Super Bowl XLVI picks? And who will win?

If you go back and read my September 10th post, you'll see I picked the Packers over the Patriots... and I have no reason to change my selection.

Well... today's my last day off, before I head back into the classroom. I hope all of you enjoyed the holidays, as much as I did. Have a great week and sayonara!

yeah... unless something happens in the playoffs where rodgers goes down and flynn absolutely flops or gets hurt... there's not doubt he'll be picked up in the off-season. just wish the packers could keep him as a backup.
