"I can't sit up here and look at it like, oh man, my critics are racist," Newton says. "I blame JaMarcus Russell and to some degree Vince Young. I like the honesty. He's right as well, although to be fair his play at Auburn had everyone assuming that kind of play wouldn't translate. Most of us were very wrong.

I like him already and I think he will be a good player for awhile in the NFC!

he needs to lay the hell off Vince Young,Young didnt fail at anything other than the fact his playing style made him brittle,it wasnt for a lack of talent on Young's part,if Newton's not careful,his personality'll lead him down the same path Russell took in Oakland

I have to agree with u to a point. Young didn't want to listen to his coaches, at least that is what has been said. Not jumping on the Newton wagon as of yet, it has been only 1 season. Next year will be a little bit better of assesment on whether or not if he is the real deal.

well young did get a little crazy with the suicide deal and all. He had major sideline issues too. SO I have no issues grouping him in. Let alone his play even this year was not even on a varsity level
