2015 Panini Contenders Rookie Ticket Autograph Variations
As one of the biggest yearly releases for rookie collectors, 2015 Panini Contenders Football is celebrated for a deep checklist and many on-card autographs. Another key component of the product is the short-printed variations that offer a more limited option for collectors. Although the differences can be quite subtle, collectors know very well that almost any Rookie Ticket has the potential to be a super short print.
Making things a bit more muddled for collectors is the fact that Panini released a college-themed version of Contenders Football earlier the year. This set also has variations and it contains many of the same players. While the college images are generally easy to distinguish, it can make searching on eBay more of a chore and some of the RPS players have college variations in this release as well.
This year, it appears Panini has made things very simple for once. In order to know if you have a variations or base Rookie Ticket, simply look to the logo in the top corner. If it shows a team helmet, you have the base version. But, if it is just the team logo, the card is a variation. Obviously, the player images switch as well, but this is a much more convenient way to determine what you have.
Among the RPS subjects, Vince Mayle of the Cleveland Browns is the one exception as both his base and variation Rookie Ticket feature a Browns helmet. It appears that the variation is the card with the smaller helmet.
Print runs are not known at this point, but Panini normally reveals that info and we will update the guide when we receive confirmation on the specific rarity.
