Trevor Bauer leads Arizona Diamondbacks to win over Los Angeles Dodgers

So this is the Trevor Bauer everyone's been raving about.

After a rough major league introduction, the Diamondbacks rookie right-hander found a rhythm Sunday, leading the Diamondbacks to a 7-1 win over the National League West-leading Dodgers, a strong performance that takes the home team into the All-Star Break.

In front of 30,523 fans at Chase Field, Bauer pitched six shutout innings, giving the Diamondbacks a much-needed series win and helping them pull within four games of the Dodgers. For a team that's struggled throughout most of the season's first half, there are worse places to be.

I like the guy and think he has great potential, but don't get too carried away from today's game. He was playing against the Dodgers (Double A Team with all its injuries).

Diamondbacks demote RHP Bauer after bad start - Yahoo! Sports

CINCINNATI (AP) -- The Arizona Diamondbacks sent right-hander Trevor Bauer back to the minors on Wednesday, a day after the rookie had the worst of his four starts in the majors.

The 21-year-old pitcher lasted only three innings in a 4-0 loss to the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night. He walked five, threw two wild pitches and had an errant pickoff throw. The Reds also stole two bases off him.

Bauer was the first of the 2011 amateur draft picks to reach the majors. He went 1-2 in four starts before being optioned back to Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.
