  • Day 1 at the Nationals Spring Training

Jackson (Cupstacker) and I had a good first day at the Washington Nationals spring training practice today. It started off a little tougher when we found out they won't allow players to sign before practice.

However, rain delay + a cute little boy = autographs (albeit some a little wet)

They had a rain delay and were all sitting on the bench. Although they normally don't sign during practice, many of them signed for Jackson. He didn't get the big two (Harper and Strasburg), but... wait for it... after 3 years, he finally got a nice auto of the bearded one - Jayson Werth.

All in all, he ended up with 45 cards signed, a ball from pitcher Chris Young, and about 10 minutes of playing/petting/lovin' on Wilson Ramos' dog.

Let's see what tomorrow holds in store. I love this trip!

Day 2 only yielded 10 signatures but one of them was Bryce Harper. Waiting in line for him allowed a bunch of the mid level guys to walk by.

Oddly enough, Jackson was most disappointed b/c he didn't get Nate McLouth. That was who he was hoping to get and to have my wife get a picture with him. He said he would do it after practice, but then walked off quickly not signing any autos.
