  • Olympics Considering Three-On-Three In 2016

This sounds stupid and something David Stern would have thought up. LOL!

The Olympics are considering three-on-three at the 2016 Olympics.

FIBA wants to create a comprehensive ranking system that would determine the best three-on-three teams in the world.

"Like volleyball has beach volleyball, swimming has synchronized swimming, we want three-on-three to be part of it," Secretary-general Patrick Baumann said.

Baumann reasoned that three-on-three would allow more countries to experience the Olympics and help FIBA expand basketball's global popularity.

Couldn't you just put some tall guy at the rim to block everything on D? Once the ball hits the rim its fair game in FIBA, so either some great dunks a la Carter over Weis or monster blocks could happen. Still sounds like a dumb idea.

I think it could be interesting, but agree that the goaltending rule would have to change in a half court game.
