Lakers luckily kept their draft pick and got the #2 pick. Lakers will most likely draft Lonzo Ball.

First trade of the offseason. Lakers trade D'Angelo Russell and the horrid contract of Timofey Mozgov to Nets for Brook Lopez and the #27 pick on Thursday. I dont mind this trade even though we gave up the best player of the deal since I am looking at what it means next summer with the salary cap. Sadly that is the price to pay to fix a wrong in Mozgov's contract.

Lakers had 3 first round picks coming into the draft. Their own #2 pick, the #27 pick (from Nets via D'Angelo Russell trade), and the #28 pick (from Rockets via Lou Williams trade). They then traded the #27 pick to the Jazz for the #30 pick and #42 pick.

Lakers drafted their point guard of the future (Lonzo Ball), a solid all around forward (Kyle Kuzma), a three point defensive guard (Josh Hart), and a project backup center (Thomas Bryant).

Lakers Sign Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to 1 year $18 million. Love this signing and gives Lakers a top free agent as their new starting shooting guard who plays defense.

Lakers sign Tyler Ennis to 1 year $2.3 million. 1 year contract only and he played well for Lakers last year.
