  • Broncos sign ex-Redskins C Will Montgomery

Broncos agreed to terms with C Will Montgomery, formerly of the Redskins, on a one-year contract.
The deal is reportedly worth "around" $1.3 million. Montgomery was released by the Redskins early last month, and visited the Broncos shortly thereafter. The Denver Post has floated the idea that Montgomery could be the Broncos' starting center, shifting Manny Ramirez to left guard. Montgomery, of course, could also be an option at guard. A full-time starter since 2011, Montgomery was drafted by the Panthers in 2006 when current Broncos coach John Fox had the same job in Carolina. Now 31, Montgomery graded out as the No. 15 center in Pro Football Focus' ratings last season. He's missed only three games since 2008.

Not a move that will get a lot of publicity, but certainly important in building your offense. I guess it will all come down to what Manning says. He will choose the guy he likes at center!
