Well I have not posted in a few weeks in the showcase section due to having so many birthdays and other things. But this past weekend I was able to get out and get 3 boxes of score that were not as good as I thought they would be, but were fun breaking regardless. Well I could not stop there, every monday night there is a local flea market here in my town and sometimes I find some cheap cards to add to the collection. Well I did not see anything that caught my eye and kept moving. As I walk inside I meet a gentlemen that is selling sports memorabilia. As I am looking through somethings I come across some autographed photos (8x10) he has and look through them and see some known names along with a few big one's like Big Ben,Roy Halladay (baseball) and a few others. Well Buried down in the bottom I see it and I am thinking no way, its Dan Marino in college uni with a certification (ACE-autograph certification experts) not to popular but legit company. I purchase the 8x10 after looking it over for about 25mins and decided it look pretty real and looking the cert # on the webpage turns out its legit and I only paid $20 for the photo. It is considered "Vintage", from what I found out its the only one of its kind so here it is enjoy as much as me and my kids do.

Tell me what you guys think about it, was it a good buy? I can take another photo of it without the slip cover on it. It has a small sticker on the bottom right with the cert # as well.

Forgot to add, do you guys think I should send it to a more reputable COA company like Beckett or other big names for example?

You and your children definitely had some nice pulls from the Score, Platinum, and Bowman. Pulling autos of rookies is always an exciting feature in the world of football card collecting. That's really a fantastic feeling to be able to share box/pack breaks with your children.

My children have moved out and are dealing with life in general so collecting football cards are shared between Mrs. Toshi and I. This is what our hobby is about, being able to create memories that will last a lifetime if not more. Also note, to be able to share such an experience on CCW's forum with members whom are passionate about card collecting is just icing on the cake as well! Congratulations on your card pulls and keep up the good work with having your children partake in your breaks.

As for Mr. Marino, I think you did exremely well. Most signed photos of Dan Marino sell for anywhere from $40.00 to a high of $75.00. This, of course, depends on the condition of the photo and the auto. In your situation, you have certification for the auto. If it's going to be sold and or kept as a personal item in your collection, in my humble opinion, it should be satisfactory. Why spend another $40.00 plus dollars to get it re-certified by Beckett or JSA.

Ultimately, it's your collection. You can do whatever you feel is the correct procedure for your newly acquired auto of Dan Marino. Especially if it's a 1/1! If you so choose to go this route, certification through Beckett/JSA would be the ultimate mandate as it's an industry wide standard. There is nothing wrong with having PSA/DNA certifying the auto as well. These are great companies to do so with. Good luck in your endevours.
I am easy, I collect any and all NFL cards. Individual players I really enjoy are Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Matt Ryan, Andrew Luck, RGIII, and Russell Wilson. My passion is Favre rookie cards and vintage cards.
