  • My gift to my Dad for his birthday

I decided to do this and give it to him for his birthday in August. He doesn't collect cards (he used to glue baseball cards in a scrap book when he was a kid though) and I doubt he really knows how far the hobby has come since then, but I thought this would be kinda cool. I sliced the original card and glued the front and back on one of those 100pt filler cardboard cards. I cut a section for the jsy and used a piece from a cheapo jsy card I had lying around. I first signed it in black Sharpie but you couldn't see it so I had to go over it with a silver Sharpie... not as clean of auto as I'd like, but it works. I was 10 in the photo and QB of The Falcons from a pee wee league in Grand Prairie, TX. My Dad was one of the coaches. Coincidentally my full name is Terrell David Crouch so the name on the back of my jersey I wore was T.D. Crouch. lol Just wanted to show off my small amount of artistic ability...

Feel free to steal my idea for your Dad or a fun project to enjoy with your kids!

That is such a fantastic Father's Day gift! It brought tears to my eyes. You see, I lost my father at a very young age. Sometimes I wonder if he were still alive, what he would say to me in that how I have continued his legacy in the family and to get to share things like this with him. Everyday, I try to be the best father I can be to my two children and live up to his expectations and more. Isn't that what all parents want for their children? To live and have a better life than theirs.

This true 1/1 is really priceless. This gift, from your heart and made by your own hands will be something to be cherished for an eternity. Thank you so much in sharing this card on showcase! You've really connected with me and brought back fond memories and tears of joy, all this from a piece of cardboard.

I am easy, I collect any and all NFL cards. Individual players I really enjoy are Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Matt Ryan, Andrew Luck, RGIII, and Russell Wilson. My passion is Favre rookie cards and vintage cards.
