    Hi everyone-

I collected football cards growing up and now 20 years later I would like to start collecting again. What’s a nice set for a new collector? Looking for something that is reasonably priced and fun to collect. I was looking at some checklists and some of these sets have so many cards I wonder how collectors complete the sets. Any advice is appreciated

    Thanks!

I think that a lot will depend on your interests. And how much you're willing to spend.

I have been putting Topps sets together for some time. It's considered "low end", but it's a nice set with good photography. The set is fairly easy to build, too. There are several products like this, I just like Topps.

Some of the more "high end" products seem (to me) like they would be nearly impossible to assemble, simply because there are only a few base cards in each box. They are more "hit" oriented & people don't generally try to put these sets together.

    I hope this was helpful.

Hi Dave! This is great. Thanks for the response. I was looking at some of the 2014 Topps sets. They look nice, some of them have a lot of inserts. Thanks

Sometimes it might be fun to put together some of the lower end inserts. In baseball, I like collecting Topps mini cards that are current players in the form of 1987 Topps. Sometimes the rookie subsets can be fun and not as expensive to put together as well.
Favorite baseball players include: Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton, Kirby Puckett, Pete Rose, Tyler Colvin Mark Appel
Favorite football players include: Peyton Manning, John Elway, Daunte Culpepper, Mike Alstott, Blake Bortles, and Dri Archer
Collecting: 2012 Topps Mini 1987 topps... non-certified autos (in person or through the mail), autographed cards with bible verses
