PHILADELPHIA -- Right-hander Jerome Williams has agreed to a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Philadelphia Phillies.
Williams was 4-2 with a 2.83 ERA in nine starts for the Phillies after being claimed off waivers from the Texas Rangers on Aug. 10. He also pitched for Houston last year and was 6-7 with a 4.77 ERA in 37 games with all three teams. He made 11 starts overall.
Williams, 32, has pitched for seven teams in his nine-year career. He's 48-54 with a 4.40 ERA in 192 games.
