  • Question about old Beckett

Hey guys I know I haven't been here in a while... holidays and getting school in order takes up a lot more time than I thought. Growing up, right?

When I collected as a kid I would pick up Beckett's every now and then. Not like now and just hop online. I kinda fizzled out of collecting around 1999 when I was in HS and worried bout other things.. my collection went in the closet/attic along with most of my other sports related things I acquired through life so far. Well one of the things I threw in a box was this Beckett 1998 with Manning on the front and Ryan Leaf on the back. I found it about 2 years ago when I started collecting again and put it in a holder for magazines and put it up with some other memorabilia. I had some time the other night and got it down and tried to find it on eBay - not much there. Another Beckett I saved is Feb. 1996 with Emmitt on the front. Found 10 of 'em for sale or sold. I'm kinda curious what I should do with this... It has been read and used but not in horrible shape. One idea is to send it to him and see if he will sign it, with a special inscription I can't say here (want it to be unique - something someone might not have thought of but would be awesome). This isn't something I would be selling, but something I might frame or display somehow if he sends it back signed.

Any suggestions would be great to read. Can't hurt to ask someone else's opinion. Thanks!

I most definitely would not sell the Beckett. I started collecting in December of 2012, at about that time I also subscribed to a monthly Beckett. I have kept everyone thus far. Your idea of having Manning sign the Beckett is definitely a plus. It will truly be a collectible. Just make sure you send it in with a donation to his foundation and make sure you hand write your note. That's how I got his auto on a card. Good luck.

I am easy, I collect any and all NFL cards. Individual players I really enjoy are Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Matt Ryan, Andrew Luck, RGIII, and Russell Wilson. My passion is Favre rookie cards and vintage cards.
