Andrei Kirilenko says he's retiring from basketball

Andrei Kirilenko says he's retiring from professional basketball.

The 2004 All-Star told the Russian daily newspaper Sport-Express on Tuesday that this past season was his last, although he didn't rule out a return in the future.

"I am finishing up my career on court," Kirilenko said.

"I have not said that this is my final decision. However, at the moment -- yes, I have retired. I have had enough. I have had a successful career as a basketball player, and the time has come to do something different."

Kirilenko, 34, was a first-round pick of the Utah Jazz in 1999. He spent 13 seasons in the NBA, including 10 with the Jazz, one with the Minnesota Timberwolves and two with the Brooklyn Nets.

A 6-foot-9 forward, Kirilenko had career averages of 11.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.4 steals in the NBA.

He signed with CSKA Moscow in his native Russia in February after being waived by the Philadelphia 76ers.
