Former Patriots G Dan Connolly has decided to retire.
A UDFA out of Southeast Missouri State, Connolly was signed to the Patriots' practice squad in 2007 and was with the franchise ever since. He started 82 games (including playoffs), going to two Super Bowls and serving as a captain on last year's title-winning squad. Connolly is just 32 and had interest from some NFL clubs, but is looking out for his long-term health and his three daughters under six years old. He suffered four documented concussions in the NFL and one more in high school.
