  • Call your Shot Series 2...What'd ya get?

I got my winning auto about a week and a half ago, I've just been really busy but I'm finally done with everything and wanted to see what everyone got for their prize?

I redeemed a whole jumbo case worth of call your shot games, all on "Auto Relic" and didn't win a single thing, then the next day I bought a regular hobby box and I switched it up and figured I was due for something at least, and the first code I entered online for just "Auto" said it was a winner...I read the thing wrong and thought that you could PICK your prize since the name of the game is call your shot but all Topps shows is a list of guys you could POSSIBLY get, and luckily I seemed to win the Rookie Tier because some of the lists didn't look that great...anyway a few weeks went by and then I saw a Topps mailer sticking out of the stack of bills one day last week.

I opened it up and there was a 2013 Bowman Sterling Chance Sisco Auto RC Orange Refractor staring back at me #'d /75. I didn't strike it rich but I didn't whiff either, its a great looking card at least, with an on card auto, and its still sealed with the Topps sticker and all 4 corners look sharp as a knife.

I personally think this idea stinks because card companies keep too many cards as replacements in the first place and this is just a "hey our vault is about to overlow lets dump some of these unclaimed redemptions and autos we've had sitting around on our customers with a fun new game". Here is why I hate how Topps keeps stock on hand: Back in 2010 I was trying desperately to get a Jason Heyward Finest Gold Refractor Autographed card, but only 10% were signed and that's only 5 Gold cards. Well I redeemed 3 or 4, as many as I could afford at the time, and didn't get an auto. Back then the redemptions were $400-600 EACH. A couple years go by and a guy listed #5/5 on eBay and wrote that he didn't even redeem this card, it was a REPLACEMENT from Topps for another mid level rare card! I almost died. They lead everyone along as if whatever they put in the boxes are it, but they keep key cards put back and they even keep the rare refractors too so just because they make so many does NOT mean they are all able to be pulled from packs, that's why its shady and I quit buying Topps Products for about 4 years. I just started buying again and now I'm finding out all the stuff they did and are doing with Kris Bryant auto RC's like having a 2013 bowman draft chrome and a 2014 bowman chrome available at the same time its ludicrous. The 2013 is a much nicer looking card but they held them back for the next year and its a 2014 "ISSUED" card instead of the 2013 Draft 1st Bowman it should be. Topps does us dirty a lot and we take it and keep running back with dollars in our hands.
