  • Rays Trade Jake McGee To Rockies For Corey Dickerson

Colorado Rockies trade Corey Dickerson to Tampa Bay Rays

The Colorado Rockies have traded outfielder Corey Dickerson to the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for reliever Jake McGee, according to multiple reports.

Both clubs will swap minor league pitchers in the deal as well, according to the reports.

The Rockies had a surplus of left-handed-hitting outfielders after signing free agent Gerardo Parra to a three-year deal.

Dickerson, 26, batted .304 with 10 home runs and 31 RBIs last season but was limited to 65 games because of injuries. He was on the disabled list three times (twice with plantar fasciitis in his left foot and one time for a broken rib). In 2014, he led the Rockies with 24 home runs.

The left-handed McGee, 29, was 1-2 and saved six games last season with a 2.41 ERA in 39 innings after beginning the season on the disabled list following arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow. In 2014, he posted a 1.89 ERA in 73 innings, finishing with a 5-2 record and 19 saves.
