  • Flea Market Finds #121: One Magnificent Unibrow

Once upon a time, I would walk around the local flea markets four, five, sometimes six times a month and there's not a doubt in my mind that my Flea Market Finds are this blog's most popular posts. They routinely receive the highest view counts among my posts.

However I've really cut back on my flea market visits this year. One of the biggest reasons has to do with my lack of interest in attending the Capitol Flea Market, which is the main one that's open several days a week. But I'll save those details for a future post.

Today's post will cover this past Saturday's trip to the De Anza Flea Market, which takes place in Cupertino on the first Saturday of every month.

I haven't gone out to De Anza in awhile... for reasons I can't really explain. I might have been busy.Might have been lazy. Or maybe I just wasn't in the mood. Whatever the reason, I was going to my friend's house that day and she lives about 10 minutes away, so I decided to walk around and get some exercise.

Purchase #1: Michael Jackson Thriller LP$5

I've been looking to add this album to my collection for years. Usually vendors ask $10 to $20 for their copies. I found this sitting in a stack of 80's albums that were $3each. Unfortunately... this was the one album he was charging a premium for... and he wasn't willing to budge.

The cover has a small crease, but the sleeve and actual album are in really nice condition, so I handed over my an Abe and grabbed my copy of the best selling album of all-time.

    Purchase #2: Wally Moon Autograph$10

2017 Topps Archives Fan Favorites Autographs #WM

My favorite Topps release each year is Archives... and the sole reason are the Fan Favoritesautographs. My buddy, Tony, opened up a box and pulled two autographs. This one... and a Kevin Seitzer. He wanted $20 for the pair, but for the price he was asking, I only grabbed Moon.

I've always known him for his famous facial hair, but after looking up his stats... he actually had solid career numbers, was a 2x MLB All-Star, and the recipient of the 1954 NL ROY Award.

    Purchase #3: Three Relics$6

I also grabbed these three relics off of Tony...

2017 Topps Spring Training Logo Patch #MLBST-YD

2017 Topps Heritage Clubhouse Collection #CCR-DO

2016 Topps Tribute Stamp of Approval #SOA-JB

The Darvish is the latest addition to my Japanese PC. The Ortiz and Bautista will both be used in Sports Card Trifectas I'm currently building. In both cases, I'm down to just their rookie cards.

    Purchase #4: Oakland A's Bobblehead$2

My final purchase was this cheap bobblehead. It has some sticker residue on a few areas and a chipped cap, but there's nothing a little Goo Gone and some model paint can't fix.

The following day, I woke up and walked around the Capitol Flea Market. The experience was not quite as enjoyable, but I'll save that for another post.

    In the meantime...

What's more epic? Michael's music, Wally's unibrow, Big Papi's belly, or Bautista's bat flips?

I look forward to reading your responses.

    Happy Wednesday and sayonara!
