Turning Lemons Into Lemonade
I typically use this blog to document the development of my collection in addition to sharing my thoughts on collecting cardboard. But every now and then, I like to write about interesting events in sports history.
Today... I'll do a little of both.
Earlier in the week... on back to back nights... Yoenis Cespedes muffed up a pair of plays in the outfield against the Los Angeles Angels. In both instances, the runners decided to take advantage of the mistakes. And in the end... he made both of them pay for it.
Here's a clip of Cespedes' botched fielding play... that ended up turning into one of the sweetest throws I've ever seen...
The next night, he misplayed a ball that bounced off the left field corner wall. The result? See for yourself:
What's insane is that on both plays, Cespedes seems to hesitate (or takes a lackadaisical approach) after committing the mistakes. I was less than amused. Thankfully he ended up nailing both runners, which helped ease the frustration.
I'll wrap things up by sharing two more videos of Cespedes showing off his throwing skills. The first video recaps the amazing game he had a week earlier against the Angels in which he nailed two more runners at the plate:

Did I mention that these five amazing throws took place over the course of twelve days? Crazy right? I guess the guy on the radio was right...
