2017 Topps Baseball Series 1 Variations Checklist, Gallery, SP List, Guide
Topps Series 1 and variations seemingly go hand-in-hand and that is still the case in '17. However, scaling back from recent years, the 2017 Topps Series 1 Baseball variation lineup appears to only include the limited SSP versions in the annual flagship set. While there is no specific theme to speak of for the image variations, collectors have a few ways to spot the cards. Also, recently-retired slugger David Ortiz receives extra attention with multiple versions.
Found across multiple formats, early details for the 2017 Topps Series 1 Baseball variations indicate 1:136 jumbo pack odds and 1:678 hobby pack odds. Unlike the more recent years, such as the 2016 Topps Series 1 variations, collectors are not treated to two tiers of short prints. Instead of a standard SP version with easier odds, alongside a much tougher SSP set to chase, it seems only the super short prints are found this year.
