  • Panini and NFL Rookie Ed Wang Make History‏

PANINI TO DEBUT ROOKIE CARD OF ED WANG –
THE FIRST FULL-BLOODED CHINESE-AMERICAN FOOTBALL PLAYER
IN 2010 PANINI PRESTIGE NFL TRADING CARDS

Arlington, Texas; May 5, 2010 – Quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers are usually the top picks for NFL card collectors, but this year an offensive tackle will be a trading card in demand for many collectors. Ed Wang, who made history last week as being the first player of full Chinese descent drafted into the NFL, will have his official NFL rookie trading card in 2010 Panini Prestige set to debut on May 12. Wang will one of the 100 different rookies included in the set.

The 6’-5” 314-lb left tackle from Virginia Tech was the 5th round pick of the Buffalo Bills. Wang, a native of Northern Virginia, has athleticism running though his veins. Both parents were members of the Chinese Olympic team in the 1980s; dad George in the high-jump and mom Nancy in running hurdles. Nicknamed “Godzilla” by Hokie fans, Wang was the youngest player to ever commit to Virginia Tech, at only 16-years-old.

2010 Panini Prestige Football packs will have a SRP of $4 per 8-card pack and a 300-cards base set. Highlights include: autographs from such NFL stars Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Brett Favre and rookies such as Sam Bradford, C.J. Spiller, Jimmy Clausen and many more; NFL Draft Class NFL Shield Logo featuring a trapped autographed embroidered 2010 NFL Shield Logo patch, numbered to 10 or less; and Collegiate Lettermen featuring an autograph within a letter of a top rookie's last name from the Class of 2010.
