ESPN will barely be off the air when Topps begins its efforts to bring the first 2011 football cards to market this spring.* The company has announced plans for a new product called Rising Rookies, set to hit the shelves in May.
Rising Rookies will carry ten cards per pack and have an SRP of $4 per pack.* Topps is promising the 24-count boxes will contain four hits including a minimum of two autographed cards.* The product is rookie focused with four new draftees per pack along with one rookie parallel and five other cards.* Each box will contain 21 inserts.
Hobby exclusive boxes will include on-card rookie autograph NFL shield and draft logo patch cards, autographed jumbo relic patch cards, autographed patch cars and 1-1 printing plates and rookie parallels.
The set will include a total of 100 rookie cards plus 25 rookie variation single prints.
