  • Panini America's Hockey Holiday

For children of all ages all across the world,*last week was invariably a good one, what with Santa making his Christmas rounds and all.*Still, it it’s likely that no one in the hobby enjoyed a better week than the*Panini America hockey team.

To help illustrate just how fruitful the week was, we’ve made the following list. Be sure to check it twice, it’s that impressive . . .

    • The week started with Panini America’s Alex Carbajal and Clint Hall spearheading*an informal signing session in a Dallas hotel room with Montreal Canadiens superstars Carey Price and P.K. Subban.
    • A few days later, Carbajal, Hall and Panini America Hockey Brand Manager*Al Muir*were “oohing*and aahing” over the newest game-worn sweater arrivals, sweet New York*Rangers alternates worn earlier this season by Derek Stepan and Michael Del Zotto.*
    • These*special “Rangers Heritage Blueshirts” feature*miniature*versions of all eight retired numbers in Rangers history sewn into the hemline. For those counting at home, those retired numbers belong to Ed Giacomin, Brian Leetch, Harry Howell, Rod Gilbert, Andy Bathgate, Adam Graves, Mark Messier and Mike Richter.
    • For the record, those smallish*retired numbers WILL BE used in a 2010-11 Panini America Hockey product.
    • Finally, Carbajal concluded*the Panini America hockey team’s banner week by*completing the company’s first duel-signed on-card autograph when Islanders legend Bryan Trottier returned his 2010-11 Limited Back to the Future*cards that he shares with John Tavares.
It was a heavenly, hectic holiday-week end to a great first year*on the ice*for Panini America.*Collectors will be reaping the rewards for at least the better part of 2011.
