Rookie base cards going for $10.00-plus (with a BV of $4.00).

Rookie autographs (#/125) pushing the $100.00 mark (with a BV of $30.00).

What a shame.

Hype, not alot of stuff, and people hearing about him winning the biggest race of the year will do that.

I've sold 4 of his RCs on the bay so far, have one left.

I asked jsab4807 if this had ever happened in NASCAR before, and he said Kasey Khane was the closest thing to what Bayne's prices are doing, but never anything like this before

Sad to say, but the last time I saw the prices jump like this was 10 years ago when the market was flooded with Dale Sr cards and the prices went crazy.

Its just a simple case of supply and demand..there was initally high demand and lower supply, so higher prices. Now there is higher supply and lower demand, so prices are going down

Why is it a 'shame' that his stuff is selling high? It's clearly sparking interest in NASCAR, and that's a good thing for the sport.

until the hype dies down, and the people who spent 100 on his autos realize that they are worth 10 bucks on ebay again...the hype sales (in any sport) tend to show very clearly who collects, and who tries to invest...
