Sigh, so much wrong info it is really sad.

First, Axford will close. This is clearly just a salary dump for the Mets (ands sends a clear message the Beltran is out the door too). Krod was going to close out 55 games. If he did that his option for 17 Mil for next year is vest and kicks in. The Mets did not want to happen. The Brewers got a solid 8th inning guy that won't get his option vested.

Second it doesn't make the brewers bullpen great. Do you understand how bad they have been? Lower half of the NL in basically every stat. This now puts them in the middle of the pack maybe. More importantly for the Cards, it is one less closer they are going to get.

As far as the PTBNL, or 2 in this case, probably not going to be top talent for a salary break. I betting maybe one of the 2 will even make a MLB roster.

Just a clear salary dump.

Has 23 saves, strikign out more then one batter an inning, walking around 2.5 over 9 innings, whip is very good. ERA maybe a tad high.

I would say he is more then a quality closer, still probably right aroudn one of the top half dozen in the game.
