Terry Francona is no longer the Manager of the Boston Red Sox after stepping down today. After the meltdown is September, you figured this was going to happen.

I don't think the September collapse was Francona's fault, I think it was the players. It seemed that once they got down in a game it was almost impossible for them to get up. And at the end of the season they ran into the "spoilers", in other words the "Birds". In the last two weeks they played seven games against the "Birds', but ONLY WON two. The "BIGGIE" being game #162 when Papelbon collapsed with two outs, two strikes on the batter, and gave up double,double,single that resulted in their elimination. Also, during that time, they made several mental errors with their fielding. Hopefully Francona will get another managing job, maybe with the White Sox.

there is talk around town that Francona maybe heading to the White Sox.

That was all the talk while I was getting that Vail card signed that you sent me at the shop today.

I wouldn't mind him leading the White Sox at all.

Part of the problem was 5 blown saves in the last few weeks of the season. They popped a stat up on the TV. They blew 5 of 7 saves at the end. Thats not the managers fault. I wish Cleveland had a vacancy.
