  • Dodgers Reach Agreement With Mark Ellis

From Sports Illustrated writer, John Heyman:
#Dodgers are signing mark ellis for $8.75M, 2 yrs, as espn reported. Busy day in dodgerland.
    ---------------------------------------

I'd rather have Jamey Carroll for less money. At least the Dodgers are trying to bring in new talent, let's hope he's not another Juan Uribe. Mark Ellis will most likely be the Dodgers starting second baseman on Opening Day.

He has a little more power than Carroll, but he hasn't hit over 10 home runs since 2009. I liked Ellis when he was on the Athletics. He was traded to the Colorado Rockies during the middle of the season last year.

Disappointing, I was hoping he would re-up with the Rockies, the 2B market this year is junk.

That seems to be the going rate, look at what Aaron Hill, Jamey Carroll and Infante got, 2B is a high demand / low supply position right now.
