    The elbow injury to Reds closer Ryan Madson will require Tommy John surgery, ending the right-hander's season, according to John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer (via Twitter). The Reds do not have insurance on Madson's one-year, $8.5MM contract, Fay tweets.

    Yesterday news was Soria was out for the season. Today Madson is out too. Phillies and Red Sox were smart to stay away from signing Madson to a long term contract. Since he only signed a 1 year deal with the Reds, Im guessing he will be moving onto a new team for 2013 now.
