Surprises & Disappointments So Far For 2012 MLB Season

Surprises for me are Rafael Furcal and Lance Lynn. Disappointments would Bud Selig is still commissioner and Pete Rose isn't any closer to being reinstated and eligible for the HoF.

Well the month of May is over for the "BIRDS"(no game tonight), and they're STILL on TOP of the A L EAST - two months into the season !!!!! Even with a five game losing streak, they are STILL on TOP. Hopefully, they will end that losing streak tomorrow and maintain the TOP PERCH in the A L EAST.

Well it's almost three months since I posted at this thread. The "BIRDS' aren't any longer on top of the A L EAST, but they are definitely STILL in the running to make the 2012 PLAYOFFS. This is, without a doubt, the BEST season they've had since 1997. KEEP IT UP "BIRDS" !!!!!!!

Also, the NATIONALS are STILL playing GREAT and SIT ON TOP of the N L EAST !!!! KEEP IT UP "NATS" !!!!!!

It sure would be nice to see a 2012 WORLD SERIES of "BIRDS" vs. "NATS" !!!

I'm pretty surprised the Orioles are still in it, considering how bad their team is outside of the bullpen.

Well, for the 1st time in September since 1997 the "Birds" sit on top of the A L EAST (along with the Yankees). I hope this continues throughout the rest of this month to the end of the season. It has definitely been a team effort, as they don't depend on 1 or 2 players. Keep it up "Birds" !!

Also, the Nationals still sit on top of the N L EAST, and currently have the BEST W-L RECORD in ALL of MLB !! Keep it up "Nats"!!!

Hopefully the "Birds" & "Nats" will both make it to the final, the 2012 WORLD SERIES. Both of them to the W S would be great, no Washington team has been to the W S since the 1920's (and the Expos never made it) and the "BIRDS" haven't been since 1983.

KEEP IT GOING "BIRDS" & "NATS"!!!!!!!! Bring on the "2012 BELTWAY W S"!!!!!!

It's a good story for Baseball (I suppose) to have the Pirates, Orioles etc relevant right now, but watching those teams, I don't get how they win games, they don't look like good teams to me.

They win because they don't have to depend on only one or two hitters to bring in the runs (like a lot of teams do), and they have one of, if not #1, the best bullpens in MLB. They don't have one single power hitter, they have a lot of balance throughout the line-up. They play as a united group of players, a true team (there aren't many of those in baseball). Hopefully they will continue to do so, and make the playoffs and end the regular season on top of the A L EAST.

Also, it would be GREAT if the Nationals hang on and WIN the N L EAST and that the Pirates would make the playoffs.

I doubt if anyone on this site thought at the beginning of the 2012 season that the O's,Nats, and Pirates would have still been in the running at the beginning of September. It's looking like there will be several "new" playoff teams this year. Keep on going in the winning direction "BIRDS", "NATS", & PIRATES!!!!!!!!!

I'd say it's fairly safe to say that I'm very disappointed with the Twins' season this year. I had them pegged for 3rd in the AL Central, not for dead last in the entire MLB. Let's hope it doesn't end that poorly.
