  • A's sign Sheets to 1 year deal

    Ben Sheets signed a one year deal worth $10 million dollars today.

    I like it.. I think he could really have a good year except not sure it makes too much sense for the A's to sign him as I don't see them doing too much this year.. Also surprised he got that much coming off major surgery without proving he can pitch in the majors again..

    they will do with him what they did with matt holiday last year- if he plays well, he will be a midseason trade for some prospects to keep up their rebuilding. if hes not good/healthy, they jettison him after the season, hence the 1 year deal

        according to ESPN's buster olney the A's are also the front runner for Yankee's outfielder Johnny Damon

          $10 Million is a whole lot of money for someone coming off an injury and someone who didn't pitch last season

              Looks like he gets the full $10 million

              According to Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated, Sheet’s contract is for $10 million plus performance bonuses.
