    Midseason Award Winners

    A lot of teams have just passed the 81 game mark, so who are your midseason award winners thus far?

    For me

    AL MVP: Mike Trout
    NL MVP: Andrew McCutchen

    AL Cy Young: Justin Verlander
    NL Cy Young: R.A. Dickey

    AL Manager of the Year: Buck Showalter
    NL Manager of the Year: Terry Collins

    AL Rookie of the Year: Mike Trout
    NL Rookie of the Year: Bryce Harper

    I'd like to add another category:
    Comeback player of the year:
    AL - Adam Dunn
    NL - Melky Cabrerra

    AL MVP - Hamilton
    NL MVP - McCutcheon (strong showing from Ruiz getting no publicity)

    AL Cy Young - Weaver
    NL Cy Young - Gio Gonzalez

    AL Manager - Buck Showalter
    NL Manager - Collins

    AL Rookie - Trout (Is Yu Darvish considered a rookie? I would still choose Trout)

      A lot of these "picks' can be debated, but most are good choices. However, without a doubt, one definitely is wrong. Even though Terry Collins is doing well, there is no way at mid-season he'd be N L MANAGER of the Year. Without a doubt that should go to Davey Johnson. Who'd have thought the Nationals would have been at the top of the N L East at ALL-STAR GAME time? And they've been there for most of the season.

      The main items Im looking to trade for are
      Baseball HOFers Autos I need
      Orioles Autos I need
      Baseball HOFers GU I need
      Orioles GU I need
      Vintage Orioles I need 1950s through 1970
      However other offers will be considered

        I debated that (Collins vs. Johnson) but I went with Collins b/c most people had the Mets as not only a last place team, but barely even 70 wins. I think the Nationals were expected to win a lot of games. I am a Nationals fan and didn't want to be a "Homer" even though I kind of did with Gio Gonzalez......

          I figured the Nationals would be decent, and they are better than that, but I think everyone thought the Mets would lose 90+ games

              Im glad nobody is picking Darvish for ROY. I have never agreed with MLB stance on foreign players ROY consideration.

              Your Verlander Cy Young pick is a true Homer pick. I think there are some equal if not better picks out there for AL Cy Young. Most of them though have steller line-ups hitting behind them.

              Edit: So maybe Verlander wasnt a homer pick. His ERA, Innings pitched, and SO are superior to most. Guess I was stuck on David Price which is very comparable but not quite as good as numbers as Verlander. So, I tip my cap to you.
