Because of "free agency" baseball players are paid way too much. This all started because of Curt Flood's case in 1970. Since then, not only baseball but all professional sports have gone out of site with what they pay players. It is ridiculous that athlete's get paid way more than teachers, military, and other positions that are way more important than sports/entertainment. Also, since free agency started, and those high athlete salaries, prices for tickets, concessions, etc have gone up drastically. Does it make any sense that a baseball player gets millions and millions per season to play ball and the person(President) with the most power and responsibility of our country is paid $400,000 per year ? Free agency, and who goes where during the off season is interesting to watch, they are just WAY OVER PAID.

          Have a good day.

The main items Im looking to trade for are
          Baseball HOFers Autos I need
          Orioles Autos I need

First, being President is a privilege and shouldn't be paid. Too many people become politicians for the money.

Second, you can blame Curt Flood until you're blue in the face but you should really blame yourself. If you don't buy tickets to the games, food, souvenirs, sports cards, watch your team on THEIR network, or spend your money with their advertisers, then the money to pay these absorbant salaries wouldn't exist!

Third, I agree, teachers are grossly underpaid. But there also has to be an accountability clause which some teachers have a problem meeting. Some school districts have been caught cheating on module tests in order to get federal money. Many times, my kids have came home with the answer sheets for the next days module test. That's the biggest reason why my kids attend private schools over public. The only money they count on is mine and private donations. There's no manipulation to get money.

Fourth, the military, police officers, firemen, etc., should make absorbant salaries. Day in and day out, they put their lives on the line, for very little compensation.

Yes, pro athletes are overpaid but we have nobody to blame but ourselves!

Nailed it. The reason players get paid so much is because of us, the fans. If we stopped watching and stopped paying attention, then there would be less money therefore, the players would make less. With that said, I'm fine with what they make, you only get paid what you are worth (relatively, since some guys get overpaid anyways)

And someone is going to get the money, whether it's the players or the owners, so it might as well be the players.
