Okay, this may seem strange, and at first I thought the guy was feeding me a line of bull, but...

When we won the Verlander Jersey Card at the Card Show, they also presented us with a Champagne Cork and a flier explaining how to go on-line and check the status of the cork. The cork has an "Authentication Hologram" on it. We followed the instructions and went to mlb.com/authentication... entered the codes... and here's the pictures and information:

That's a cool piece of memorabilia! I think MLB has an Authenticator at every game, so it wouldn't surprise me that a champagne cork from the celebration received authentication. What I would be concerned with is counterfeiting of the authentication sticker. Not saying that has happened but I would think it would be possible. Cool regardless.
