  • Is it bad to put cards in collector album sleeves?

I'm wondering if it's bad or frowned upon in the collector community to place cards in the 9 card plastic sleeves they have for collectors books/albums?

Any help or info on your thoughts would be great!

    Thanks!

Why would it be frowned upon? I mean, I wouldn't go putting a bunch of autographs in those pages or anything, but for your base cards why not? It's an easy way to to display / organize cards (especially in some sort of order, like numerical) and still have them accessible without taking up a ton of space.

Like I said, I wouldn't go and put my autos, GU's, or inserts in those pages, but for base cards it's fine. I have an album myself for a couple of base sets I am working on.

Wasnt sure if it was easier for cards to get hacked up in their. I also like showcasing them in the books. I have been putting some inserts in them also, maybe I will do base only. I don't put GU or autos in them

Well, if you put them in a binder, make sure it is a D-ring binder, it helps the pages lay flat. Other than that, I'd say you were safe to put cards in the 9 card pages. The only reason why I don't put inserts in them is because almost all the inserts I get are available for trade, so I keep them in sleeves and top loaders.

Use a d-Ring binder. I also use in conjunction with penny sleeves.
I collect a little bit of everything. But, if I never get back to you, your probably on Ignore!!

Same recommendation as Dave and the other guys. I use penny sleeves too. Also storing the binders flat will help keep the dust out. Dust can damage the cards. I also only do 1 card per pocket, this gives the card room to be removed easier.
