  • Roy Oswalt Willing to Waive No Trade Clause

A week after Lance Berkman said he'd be willing to waive his no-trade clause if the Astros asked, teammate Roy Oswalt told MLB Network Radio on Thursday he would be willing to do the same.

Oswalt, in an interview on Sirius XM, said he told the Astros he would possibly allow them to trade him to a team of his choice if the club was struggling near the trade deadline and the Astros could get prospects in return. The right-hander has said similar statements the past few seasons.

Neither Oswalt nor Berkman have asked the Astros to be traded, and general manager Ed Wade didn't immediately return a phone message.

Oswalt's contract with the Astros expires at the end of the 2011 season, but the club has a $16 million option for 2012. He's making $15 million this year and scheduled to earn $16 million next year. Oswalt has a full no-trade clause.

    ------

He's limiting his options since there are only a few teams that would take on that contract, i see him staying with the Astros due to the teams that have a chance to win it all, either wont want him or cant afford him

Dodgers will be calling for him, I've been saying it since week 2 when the Astros got off to that horrible start. Perfect fit.

One if not both of them will probably be gone by the trade deadline.
