  • Rockets Sign Ronnie Brewer

Ronnie Brewer reportedly agrees to deal with Rockets | ProBasketballTalk

The Rockets continue to add veteran depth to their roster in order to try to contend next season, this time by agreeing to terns with free agent Ronnie Brewer.

Marc Stein of ESPN.com had the report, and added that it’s a two-year deal that’s only partially guaranteed.

Brewer started 34 of the 46 games he appeared in for the Knicks in the first part of last season, before being sent to Oklahoma City at the trade deadline in exchange for a second round pick in 2014.

He’s proven to be an above average wing defender, but his minutes declined significantly in New York in the months leading up to the deal, and he was only used sparingly during his time in Oklahoma City.

Houston has done a good job of snatching up veteran talent at bargain prices, but it’s worth noting that their roster is extremely crowded at the moment, with 18 players holding at least partially-guaranteed contracts as we inch toward the opening of training camp at the end of September.
