Upper Deck, Euroleague Basketball Sign Exclusive Card Deal
With the NBA license locked up by Panini, Upper Deck is looking globally to expand its hoops line, signing an exclusive deal with Euroleague Basketball.
Under the agreement, Upper Deck has access to the league's players, which includes a growing number of prospects thanks to the game's international popularity. Besides basic cards, Upper Deck will also be producing autographs and game-used memorabilia cards of Euroleague players.
"More and more Euorpean players are making headlines for their polished style of play," said Upper Deck president Jason Masherah via press release. "It was a natural fit for Upper Deck to with with the top European basketball league in order to deliver future stars to our collectors."
Upper Deck's plans for Euroleague cards is to include them in their basketball lines beginning in 2015.
Euoleague Basketball joins the National Hockey League, NCAA, Canadian Football League and American Hockey League as Upper Deck exclusive partners.
