  • Gilbert Arenas To Be Sentenced On Friday

Gilbert Arenas will find out his fate on Friday. Whether he serves jail time or not. The outcome of this will determine whether the Washington Wizards will void his contract. When the decision is made tomorrow, I will update this thread.

Im hoping for jailtime for the both of them, the league does not need players like this.

Okay time to unleash your comments on how Arenas is an evil person, is out looking to kill people, is a big-time criminal, etc.

          Arenas gets no jail time

30 days in a half way house and 2 years probation

400 hours of community service as well

He also got a $5000 fine. Based on what he was sentenced to, I dont think the Wizards will be able to void his contract unless they find a loop hole in it.

Ok so the Wizards are not going to void his contract and will bring him back next season. So what the heck was the point of trading Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler again. If they dont pick up the option on Josh Howard and/or Randy Foye, they can offer one max contract to a free agent. But if they end up signing no one, they would have been better off keeping Jamison and Butler.

Management already stated they were going to bring back Arenas if he didn't go to jail, like a month or two ago already. It's already known, since the trades, that Howard's contract won't picked up, and that he won't resigned unless it's for ridiculously cheap. Not sure what will happen with Foye, but he's a horrible point guard, and is more of a scoring guard, which this team already has tons of. I'd rather go with Shaun Livingston than keep Randy Foye.

Wizards have a lottery pick (don't want to say top 5 already since the Wizards have notorious bad luck with lottery picks) and one max contract to give. Couple that with a returning Arenas, an acquisition in itself, an emerging big man in Andray Blatche, and a defensive monster in JaVale McGee, and things don't look too bad.
