Phoenix Suns trade Markieff Morris to Washington Wizards

The Phoenix Suns have traded forward Markieff Morris to the Washington Wizards on Thursday, according to multiple media reports.

In exchange, the Suns will get Kris Humphries, DeJuan Blair and a protected first-round pick.

Morris, who is averaging 11.6 points and 5.2 rebounds this season, has scored at least 14 points in each of the past six games.

During the offseason, after the Suns had traded his twin brother -- Marcus Morris -- to the Detroit Pistons, Markieff Morris was vocal about not wanting to return to Phoenix. He eventually backed off that stance.

But trouble continued to follow Morris as the Suns, who many expected to compete for a playoff spot this season, have the second-worst record in the Western Conference at 14-40.

Morris got into a physical altercation with teammate Archie Goodwin during a game against Golden State on Feb. 10. An argument between the two players escalated into a shoving match, and teammates had to quickly step in to separate the two.

Earlier this season, Morris was suspended for two games for throwing a towel at then-coach Jeff Hornacek during a game on Dec. 24.
