  • Wolves Sign Brandon Rush To 1 Year $3.5 Million

Brandon Rush will join the Timberwolves on a 1-year, $3.5 million deal - SBNation.com

Unrestricted free agent wing Brandon Rush will join the Minnesota Timberwolves on a one-year, $3.5 million contract, according to Cleveland.com's Chris Haynes.

Rush struggled with injuries prior to this past season but suited up for 72 games for the Golden State Warriors in 2015-16 and was in the starting lineup for 25 of those. The 30-year-old swingman connected on 40 percent of his three-point attempts, which helped Golden State stretch the floor when Harrison Barnes went down. His role was significantly reduced in the playoffs and it was hard to imagine it being increased next season.

Rush will give the Timberwolves an outside threat to complement the play of Ricky Rubio and Andrew Wiggins. If he continues to shoot like he did last season he should carve out a spot for himself in the rotation, as he immediately becomes the best shooter on the roster. Rush is not a great defender at this point but he tries hard, which should endear him to coach Tom Thibodeau.

In the 2015-16 season Rush averaged four points, two rebounds and an assist in 15 minutes per game.
