  • Joe Paterno Fired. Bradley named interim

He tried to go out on his terms but State College said NO. Time is now. Who could argue
    ----------------------------------

Both football coach Joe Paterno and president Graham Spanier are out at Penn State in the wake of a disturbing child sex abuse scandal involving former assistant coach.

Paterno said in a statement Wednesday that he would retire after the season, but the university's board of trustees met Wednesday night and decided Paterno would not be allowed to continue as coach. Assistant coach Tom Bradley has been named interim coach.

Spanier chose to resign Wednesday and will be replaced temporarily by provost Rodney Erickson.

Glad the board did the correct thing. Paterno deserved to be fired

Yeah I agree. This was bigger then Joe Pa. There will come a time when his accomplishments etc are celebrated but this was his watch and he had to go regardless of circumstance.
Now the focus can be how to help victims of such hanus acts. The press has really dropped the ball and focused more on Paterno which is an insult. Now they can move on.
