  • Ed Reed not 100% committed to playing in '12

According to Adam Schein of SiriusXM NFL Radio, Ed Reed is not "100 percent committed" to playing the 2012 season.
We suspect this will end up being much ado about nothing. It's that time of year for Reed, who habitually thinks out loud on the subject of walking away from the game. It's even more acute this year, as Reed has already acknowledged that a new contract is on his mind as he enters the last season on a deal that will pay him $7.2 million. We fully expect to see him on the field in Week 1 versus the Bengals.

I just heard a Baltimore radio host who said fans, management and the press are fed up with Reed and don't care if he retires or not. It sounds like year to year complaining for contracts. The host said Reed even gets upset when the team doesn't call him regularly in the offseason.
