Texans signed LT Duane Brown to a six-year, $53.4 million contract extension.
The Houston Chronicle reports the deal contains $22.08 million in guarantees. Brown, Pro Football Focus' sixth-rated tackle and second-best left tackle in 2011, was entering the final year of his rookie contract. After the Texans allowed starters Mike Brisiel and Eric Winston to walk in the offseason, locking up Matt Schaub's blind-side protector up became a necessity. Expect Brown to be part of a top-10 offensive line once again this season.
