  • Tagliabue postpones Tuesday's Bountygate appeals hearing

Since Roger Goodell recused himself from the Bountygate appeals and tapped former commissioner Paul Tagliabue to take his place, the NFLPA has made its objections known and has asked for Tagliabue to step aside as well.

Now, CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman has confirmed that Tagliabue has postponed the appeals hearing set for Tuesday, because of the threat posed by Hurricane Sandy. Tagliabue reportedly will have more information on Monday, but for now, it's unclear when those appeals will be heard (though CBSSports.com's Jason La Canfora says that it could be at least a week).

PFT was the first to report the news of the adjournment.

The Saints, including Jonathan Vilma and Will Smith, are playing in Denver on Sunday night, and with the storm expected to hit the East Coast by early next week, it might be impossible for Vilma and Smith to travel to New York for the Tuesday hearings.

Until they actually meet with Tagliabue, Vilma and Smith will be allowed to play. Meanwhile, the Browns' Scott Fujita went on the IR list this week, ending his season, and Anthony Hargrove is still a free agent.
