After the Redskins lost to the Steelers in Pittsburgh a few weeks ago, Washington coach Mike Shanahan reported that $3,700 in cash and his passport had been taken from a leather briefcase in the locker room. Earlier this week, there were reports that Shanahan had found his missing items in a different location.

So, all is well.

Well, not exactly. The Redskins released a statement on Thursday from their director of security, Ed Burke, in which he said the money and passport are still missing.

“Mike Shanahan did have money and a passport stolen out of his locker room in Pittsburgh,” Burke said. “The Pittsburgh police insisted on filing a police report because of the missing passport. There is an ongoing investigation. The missing property was not stowed in another bag as reported.”
